According to latest reports in some prominent national media channels, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is contemplating to announce some relaxations to National Lock Down. The National Executive Committee headed by Union Home Secretary said to have taken some crucial decision regarding some graded relaxations to the National Lock Down which is imposed. The inputs of the several state governments were also discussed during the Video Conference with Prime Minister. They are currently processed through various Government of India Ministries. However, the final call will be take by the Cabinet Secretariat and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
It is reported that Modi may announce these graded relaxations during his speech to the nation today. While the extension of lock down is almost certain, the Government of India may announce relaxations to agricultural sector in these tested times. Meanwhile, Industries Ministry is also requesting the Union Home Ministry to give relaxations to certain industries to begin work. Industry secretary has written to Home secretary to give relaxations to some industries in a phase-wise manner.
Centre is assessing various possibilities and options. One has to wait for PM’s address to the nation.
