It seems like Jagan Mohan Reddy has no option but to take U-turn in an issue due to an over-enthusiastic decision he took in past. We are talking about the legislative council abolition. Jagan made it a mission to abolish the council before few months when it stood between him and his three capital dream.
It is known that the parliament needs to pass the bill regarding the cancellation of the legislative council that was forwarded by the AP government. Now, the MLC seat of TDP’s Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad became vacant due to his resignation and the election council is looking to release the schedule for these elections on June 18th and the polling is likely to be conducted on July 6th.
Jagan, who was well aware that he would attain a majority in the legislative council in a year, opted the aggressive way by passing a bill to abolish the council, is in a state of confusion at the moment. If the YSRCP doesn’t want to contest in these polls, the seat will be grabbed by the TDP. Already the YSRCP’s MLC candidates were resigned to their ministries and sent to Rajya Sabha too.
So, many opine that Jagan doesn’t show any interest in that MLC seat. The point here is, if Jagan wants to sacrifice the seat to TDP it should be worth it from his side. In the present circumstances, there is no way the parliament will consider the bill of the cancellation of the legislative council in AP, and especially when COVID-19 is giving them enough headache, there is no room for politics.
So, there are bright chances that Jagan will let one of his men to contest the polls and if that takes place, many people will criticize him for the biggest U-turn in his life and will name Jagan as a Chief Minster with hurried decisions.
