Ever since Kanna Lakshminarayana was shown the door by the BJP’s central leadership, there has been widespread speculation as to who could be behind this. And all fingers are pointing at Rajya Sabha MP and YSRCP national general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy who had earlier leveled serious allegations against Kanna Lakshminaryana accusing the latter of misusing the funds of party and alleged him of taking bribe of Rs 20 Crore to support TDP.
Vijay Sai Reddy had made these serious remarks against Kanna back in the last week of April this year. He had also then questioned why BJP hadn’t initiated action against Kanna and indicated that the action could be followed.
Since Vijay Sai Reddy is believed to have good contacts with the top brass of BJP at Delhi level and has been maintaining good relations with Amit Shah, Modi and others, naturally, speculations are now rife that it could be Sai Reddy behind Kanna’s ousting from the post.
Also, it is YCP and Vijay Sai Reddy who are going to benefit from the sacking of Kanna from BJP’s AP chief post as Kanna is allegedly maintaining good bond with Opposition TDP and joining forces against ruling YCP. On the other hand, this is also beneficial to BJP in AP since it will be a good opportunity for it to strengthen the party in AP along with Janasena.
As Somu Veerraju is a hard-core BJP leader and connects with the party ideologically – unlike Kanna who jumped to BJP from Congress, BJP also may gain by replacing Kanna with Somu Veerraju.
On the whole, sacking of Kanna is adding fuel to the ongoing rumours that Vijay Sai Reddy has stronghold on BJP’s central leadership. While these rumours could be true or false, the move of Kanna’s removal may work in favour of ruling YCP to an extent. Only time will prove.
