Hopes are skyrocketing in Vizianagaram district over the proposed North Andhra Regional Development Council. Many YSRCP MLAs and other key leaders are strongly lobbying for the post of the chairperson and the member of the council.
There are going to be seven members and a chairman. The chairman’s post is a cabinet rank position and hence there is great demand. Already Tammineni Sitaram of North Andhra has been given the all-important Speaker’s post, while both Dharmana Krishna Das and Appala Raju have been made ministers. Hence, several North Andhra YSRCP leaders are lobbying for these posts. MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, who is a confidant of YS Jagan, is waiting in the wings and many feel that he is the hot favourite for the post of the chairperson.
But sources also tell us that senior leader and four-time MLA Rajanna of Saluru is also vying for the same post. He is already sulking as a much junior Pushpa Srivani has been made a minister and that he has been ignored. Similarly, Botsa’s nephew Chinna Srinu is also trying his luck for the post. Let’s see who will the lady luck smile at.
