In a move to improve advancements in the agricultural sector, the Telangana government under the Innovation-Hub (I-Hub) with international crop research for semi arid tropics ICRISAT, will be connecting all the Rytu Vedikas being constructed in the state via internet.
IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said that the research being used at ICRISAT should also be optimised such that the research results reach the farmers and improve their revenues. He said the technology will be boosted to provide information related to pest control, revenue, time to sow and harvest through the Rytu Vedikas.
The minister, who answered during the question hour in the meeting on Wednesday said, the number of start-ups has increased from 400 to 2000 plus and the T HUB has encouraged 400 companies to launch corporate innovations. KT Rama rao earlier supported KCR’s idea said, the venues have been initated to federate farmers, augment Rythu Bandhu Samitis, ensure farming is monitored and is remunerative.
The minister shared proudly that so far 1120 start ups have generated Rs 1800 crore as investment to be utilized for employing over 2500 people. He told that the 3.50 lakh square feet facility T HUB 2 constructed at a cost of Rs 276 crore that is being constructed at Rayadurgam will be launched by the year end.
