The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Trust Board had filed a defamation petition against its former head-priest Rama Deekshithulu and Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy in 2018. This was with regards to a pink diamond allegedly missing from the treasury of the TTD. both Deekshithulu and Vijayasai had pointed fingers at the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in this issue.
Following this accusation, the TTD board had filed a defamation petition against Deekshithulu and Vijayasai, for Rs. 100 Crore each. Recently, there were rumors that the TTD was planning to withdraw this case.
However, finally, in a very shocking move for Deekshithulu and Vijayasai, the TTD has filed a petition to the Tenth Additional District Judge in Tirupati, clarifying and stating that it has no intentions in withdrawing the case, and that it wishes to go ahead with the defamation case.
It is now going to be interesting to see what Vijayasai and Deekshithulu will do to get out of this case.
