Till recently it was the TRS which was poaching into other political parties and was weaning away their members. MLAs, MLCs and corporators from other parties queued up into the TRS. But, now the tables seem to have turned. There is slow but steady exodus from the party, mainly into the BJP.
Even as Minister from Karimnagar Gangula Kamalakar was holding a key meating in the town to keep the corporators together and prevent them from leaving the party, the BJP administered a shock to the TRS. It weaned away a key TRS leader. Former deputy mayor Guggilapu Ramesh has sent in his resignation from the party. Ramesh has been unhappy over being sidelined in the party and has not been attending party programmes of late. However, the TRS did not expect him to cross over. He sent his resignation to Gangula Kamalakar. Ramesh’s wife is a TRS corporator now.
If sources are to be believed, he is all set to join the BJP. He had already met BJP Telangana state president Bandi Sanjay and has expressed his willingness to join the BJP. If sources are to be believed, several more corporators are all set to ditch the TRS and join the BJP.
