When Megastar Chiranjeevi started his own political party Praja Rajyam, the entire Mega family came in support of him. For the 2009 general elections, every active member of the Mega family back then, including Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, campaigned for Praja Rajyam.
The situation turned out to be completely different though, after Pawan Kalyan started Jana Sena. While several members of the family, including Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, stated their support to Jana Sena, and while Naga Babu had directly contested in the elections from Jana Sena, the head honcho of the family, Megastar Chiranjeevi, refrained from stating any opinion at all.
It is true that Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan’s way of working are different, and on many occasions, Chiranjeevi had also said that he would always support his brother. However, Chiranjeevi never mentioned anything about extending his support to Pawan in politics. It is widely known that Chiranjeevi is the main reason that Pawan got back to films, as Chiranjeevi had advised Pawan to continue doing films for several more years, before he shifted to politics completely.
Given that Chiranjeevi is like a father figure to Pawan Kalyan, Mega fans and fans of Jana Sena, have always wondered why Chiranjeevi refrained from showing his support to Jana Sena in the public. Looks like all of this is about to finally change, if Jana Sena senior leader Nadendla Manohar’s words are anything to go by.
Manohar hinted that Chiranjeevi might soon extend his support fully to Jana Sena and that there are even chances of him campaigning for the upcoming Tirupati by-elections if Jana Sena wishes to be a part of it. This may not come to pass through, since Chiranjeevi has stated that he does not wish to get into politics again, but Chiranjeevi might extend his support to Pawan Kalyan, behind the scenes, unofficially, by giving his brother his moral support as always, and maybe even advising him regarding various aspects.
