Until recently, Basant Kumar was working as the Joint Executive Officer of the TTD, from July 2019. However, this came to an end now, after the YSRCP government has released an order, removing him from his post, and asking him to report to the General Administration Department (GAD) for further posting details.
Reportedly, Basant Kumar was removed from his post because of the kind of overaction that he indulged in, according to the government. As part of his tour, AP SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar had recently visited Tirupati and even visited Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy temple.
Despite not having to have personally been present during Nimmagadda’s visit, Basant Kumar had taken time specifically to meet the SEC. Members of the YSRCP are said to be of the opinion that Basant Kumar did not have to go to meet Nimmagadda in person.
It is also being said that Chief Secretary Adityanath Das had immediately issued transferred orders to Basant Kumar after getting to know Kumar’s work ethics and other behaviour.
Even though Basant is now transferred, he will be functioning as the election observer for Nellore district, for the upcoming local elections.
