The Hurun Global Rich List for the 2021 edition was issued on Tuesday. According to the list, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani is the richest man in India and the eighth richest person in the world.
Mukesh Ambani’s wealth increased to $83 billion, which translates to nearly Rs 6.09 lakh crore making him the richest Indian. Gautam Adani and family(Rs Rs 2.34 lakh crore), Shiv Nadar and family(Rs 1.94 lakh crore), Lakshmi N Mittal(Rs 1.40 lakh crore), and Cyrus Poonawalla( Rs 1.35 lakh crore) have also made it to the list.
Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has been named the richest person in the world with a net worth of $197 billion. Thanks to the company. In 2020 alone, the company saw a profit of $721 million. Amazon.com INC CEO Jeff Bezos bagged the second spot.
The Hurun Global Rich List has found out that the world added a total of 421 billionaires in 2020 alone, which translates to eight billionaires per week. India has a total of 209 billionaires.
