Pm Modi Lashes Out At Mamata Banerjee At Massive Rally In Kolkata

Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted the election campaign on Sunday. The campaign was started with a massive political rally held at the state capital Kolkata.

Addressing the rally, the Prime Minister targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said she had broken the trust of West Bengal. He promised “Sonar Bangla” (Golden Bengal), if BJP makes is elected in the elections. BJP leaders often use the promise “Sonar Bangla whenever they campaign in the state.

Narendra Modi told the gathering that he has come today to ensure development in the state, increase the investments and to protect the culture of Bengal, and bring a change.

The PM opined that the coming 25 years are very crucial for the development of the state and promised that when India celebrates 100 years of independence in 2047, the state will lead the nation yet again.

He alleged that the Mamata Banerjee government had let the people down and claimed that the democratic system in the state was destroyed in the state.

Narendra Modi targeted the Chief Minister over various issues like nepotism in politics. Hinting at the alleged interference of Didi’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee in the government, he questioned, why she remained the aunt of her nephew in the state.

He also took a dig at Mamata Banerjee, who used Trinamool Congress’s anthem “Khela hobe (game on)” before the election rallies. At the rally, he said the game will not continue and the game must stop. “Khel Khatam hona chahiye,” he said.

Both the parties have taken the polls seriously. The BJP is trying to win the polls to form the government and the ruling TMC is aiming to show the BJP that the party has a stronghold in the state.

Ex-TMC leader and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari challenged Didi to contest from Nandigram and Didi agreed to the challenge and said she will contest from the constituency in the upcoming polls.
