Kamal Loses The Political Battle! Will He Focus On Films Again?

Hailed as one of the greatest actors India has ever produced, Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan tried his luck in politics recently. He founded a political party named Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and contested in the Coimbatore South seat. He spent a lot of time on these elections and even took a break from his movies.

All his efforts went in vain as he lost in the elections by a margin of 1,500 votes to Vanathi Srinivasan who is the national president of the BJP women’s wing. Not just Kamal but none of his members from MNM managed to win in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls.

With no big future visible on the political front, his fans are expecting to see Kamal back on the silver screen soon. They are hoping that he will be working on more films that deliver a message to the audience instead of entering politics. He was supposed to complete ‘Indian 2’ before the elections but the project got shelved. He has ‘Vikram’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in his hands. It is to be seen if Kamal stays active in politics even now or leaves it completely.
