Bandi Sanjay upset with Warangal BJP leaders

Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay is said to be mighty upset with the leaders from Warangal. He is said to be upset because of the results of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation elections. He is reportedly unhappy with the performance of the party, which he believes is mainly due to the internal groupism in the party.

Soon after Dubbak and GHMC successes, there was great enthusiasm in Warangal. The party workers were euphoric and they felt that winning the GWMC was possible. But, few wrong decisions have caused a setback. Firstly, putting up Premender Reddy as a candidate for the Graduate MLC election was one such decision. His campaign was both uninspiring and lacklustre. His defeat has left the party workers demoralised.

But, more importantly, the party in Warangal is deeply divided. There are at least three major factions in the party unit. One group is led by former MLA M Dharma Rao. The other group is led by former Mayor Rajeshwara Rao. The third group belongs to district BJP president Ravula Padma. All the three groups are undercutting one another. As a result, there were problems in the selection of the candidates and the campaign. The groupism also ensured that the BJP lost in 10 divisions with small margin.

The party has won 10 seats and could have won another 10 seats. This would have given some respectability to the party in the district. Sanjay, who personally campaigned in the GWMC elections, is disappointed with the performance. He is said to be considering taking some tough actions to set the house in order.
