The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a notice to actor-philanthropist Sonu Sood for failing to restore his six-storey building from a hotel to a residential building. It may be recalled that the actor had converted the residential premises into a hotel during the pandemic time and the BMC objected to it.
The Acharya actor even approached the Bombay High Court, but he didn’t get the expected response. He later withdrew his petition and accepted to restore the building.
In July, the BMC had asked him to remove any unauthorised construction that has been carried out in the building. The actor agreed to the same. But seems like he failed to restore it and in reaction to it, the BMC served another notice.
The BMC notice read: “This office inspected the site on October 20 and observed that you have not yet restored the work as per the approved plan.”
Sood was given seven days to carry out the restoration. If he fails to do so, the officials warned that they would take an action without further intimation.
