The Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) government which is focusing on overall developments in the state has been addressing the traffic issues off late. As part of this, various bridges and flyovers were built in the state and one more massive flyover came into place in the capital city Hyderabad on Tuesday.
As one more feather in the illustrious cap of the capital city, a massive flyover was constructed at the Owaisi-Midhai Junction. The three-lane construction was inaugurated earlier today by TRS Working President and Municipal Administration Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao.
While KTR launched the flyover, others like Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi were also present on the occasion. They have jointly inaugurated the flyover.
Others like Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, GHMC Mayor G Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Sri Latha, MLA D Sudheer Reddy, and others were also present at the flyover inauguration.
The 1365 meters long flyover that was built with a big budget of Rs 80 crores has been named after former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam. The tech-savvy Minister took to Twitter to share a glimpse of the flyover and to share the information of naming the marvel after the legendary personality.
While announcing the decision on naming it after APJ Abdul Kalam, KTR said that it is a small tribute to the person who worked at the primary agency Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) and lived in the area for more than ten years.
“A short video on the just inaugurated Owaisi-Midhai Junction flyover built under #SRDP by #GHMC.We have decided to name it after Hon’ble former president APJ Abdul Kalam Ji. Small tribute a great man who worked at DRDO & also lived in the neighbourhood for over a decade,” KTR tweeted sharing a video of the flyover.
The flyover was constructed to ease the traffic movement in the old city. The Hyderabad Civic body Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) had constructed the flyover under the Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP) initiative of the government.
The three-lane flyover will be greatly beneficial for the commuters who travel in the area between the Midhani Junction and Owaisi Hospital Junction.
