The Telangana cabinet held a meeting at Pragathi Bhavan today, under the chairmanship of Cheif Minister KCR, where they discussed the current covid situation in the state, and what steps would have to be taken. There were reports that day and weekend curfews were being planned by the government, to keep the spread of the virus in check.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Health Minister T Harish Rao said that the coronavirus pandemic was under control in the state and that the health department is fully equipped to tackle any sort of situation. He also said that five crore vaccine doses have been administered in the state so far and that more would be administered very soon.
The minister also directed the concerned officials to complete the vaccination programme at the earliest with the help of municipal and Panchayat Raj departments. The Chief Minister reportedly wanted all the ministers to hold meetings in all the districts, with district collectors and other officials to complete the vaccination programme. The health minister urged people to be self-discipline to help curb the spread of Covid in the state. He said people should avoid gatherings so that the virus spread can be checked.
