Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s two most loyal employees have been former DGP Gautam Sawang and former principal secretary in CMO, Praveen Prakash. They have served quite well under Jagan’s regime in the last few years, but for some reason, have not been able to live up to the CM’s satisfaction over the past few weeks. As a result, CM Jagan stripped them of their posts and gave them to someone else, all of a sudden.
In order to avoid public ire, Jagan compensated Sawang and Prakash with other posts, although not as important. While Sawang was offered the APPSC chairperson’s post, Praveen Prakash was transferred to the AP Bhavan in Delhi as a resident commissioner. Both Sawang and Prakash seemed doubtful of accepting their roles at first, but it now seems as though they have been pressured into accepting their posts.
Sawan has accepted his post, agreeing to take voluntary retirement, while Prakash has also agreed to his post, with his wife, Bhavna Saxena now part of the Central government. All in all, it looks as though Sawang and Prakash have given into CM Jagan’s decision.
