If the reports coming from the power corridors of Tadepalli are to be believed, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to revamp his cabinet on April 11.
According to these reports, Jagan has fixed the muhurtham for cabinet restructuring on Chaitra Suddha Dasami, a day after Sri Rama Navami, which falls on Monday.
The official confirmation will be made after the chief minister meets Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada and takes his consent.
As reported earlier, Jagan will replace the entire cabinet with new faces, except two or three ministers of the present cabinet who would be retained for balancing the caste and regional equations.
According to sources, there would be five women ministers in the cabinet this time, compared to the three ministers – Pamula Pushpa Srivani, Taneti Vanitha and Mekathoti Sucharita – in the present cabinet.
There are reports that actress and firebrand MLA from Nagari assembly constituency R K Roja is all set to make it to the cabinet in the ensuing cabinet revamp.
Since Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is likely to be dropped, Roja might get the chance under the Reddy quota from Chittoor district.
Apart from Roja, the names of Vidadala Rajini from Chilakaluripet, Reddy Shanti from Srikakulam, Jonnalagadda Padmavathi from Anantapur, Varudu Kalyani from Visakhapatnam and Pothula Sunitha from Prakasam (the last two being MLCs) are also being heard in the cabinet revamp.
There were four Reddys in the first cabinet – Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Balineni Srinivas Reddy, late Mekapati Gautam Reddy and Buggana Rajendranath Reddy. This time, Jagan might accommodate five Reddys, including Roja, sources said.
Watch out for more information in this regard.
