As one of the much-talked-about election battles, the general elections in West Bengal saw BJP and TMC locking horns with each other. After TMC crushed the BJP, Mamata Banerjee was dubbed as an alternative to PM Modi at the center. Though the polls were over, the fight between the two parties was not over and on many occasions, the parties fought each other. One more joined the list.
The recent violence that took place in Birbhum district’s Rampurhat had made it to the headlines and a TMC leader was arrested by the cops going by the instructions of the Chief Minister herself. The much-talked-about incident has now hit the state Assembly as well, as the MLAs of both parties have indulged in a fight.
Going into detail, the BJP MLAs have condemned the violent attack and demanded a discussion on the incident. The TMC leaders have countered their claims and this has led to a war of words. Things escalated quickly when the MLAs started fighting each other.
As the visuals of the MLAs fighting each other went viral, the TMC and BJP are giving their versions of the story. The TMC is alleging that the BJP leaders have started it and provoked them leading to a fight in the state Assembly house.
On the other hand, the BJP is saying that when the party leaders are demanding a discussion on the issue, that is what they are receiving. The West Bengal wing of the BJP had blamed the Mamata Banerjee government over the fight.
