Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took the biggest risk of his term as the Chief Minister of AP when he shuffled the cabinet earlier this month. The shuffling of the cabinet made sure that many lost their ministerial berths, which were given to others. It also became the reason for the disappointment of many members of the YSRCP, who thought they would be given a seat in the cabinet.
As a result, a lot of unrest has taken place within the party and its cadre, which is threatening the smooth functioning of the YSRCP, which is currently focusing on the 2024 elections, which are less than 2 years away. If the party members are at odds with each other, especially at odds with the Chief Minister, it wouldn’t reflect very well. CM Jagan is trying his best to make sure that this sense of disappointment is subsided in the party, and he is personally trying to console each and every member who is disappointed.
Jagan recently consoled Chodavaram MLA Dharmasri, who didn’t get a place in the cabinet, promising the MLA that he would be made an important member of the party. Bhimili MLA Avanthi Srinivas is another member who is disappointed, whom Jagan consoled recently as well. Despite the many condolences that Jagan is offering to the various member of his party, it is to be wondered whether these consolation tours would be of any use in the end. There are rumours that the cabinet shuffling might take a bad turn in the end for the YSRCP, especially in the lead up to the 2024 elections. It is now to be seen what will happen in the end.
