Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu who became the first Chief Minister of divided Andhra Pradesh needs no introduction. He was instrumental in the software boom in Hyderabad. When Former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao created a path for software in the country, Naidu took the path further.
Chandrababu Naidu turned a year older today. Let us dive into his key achievements as a Chief Minister. During his tenure, Hyderabad city in combined Andhra Pradesh went through a massive transformation. The HITEC City which is a posh and developed area in the city was like a forest a few decades back.
His vision worked so well that software saw a boom in Hyderabad and the city even gave a good competition to Bangalore and Chennai. Many IT giants and big companies have come to Hyderabad despite the invitations from the two cities. Not just inviting the companies, Chandrababu Naidu also developed the required infrastructure to facilitate the IT sector’s growth.
As an illustrious feather in his glorious cap, Chandrababu Naidu had managed to bring Microsoft company to Hyderabad. Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates started a development centre in Hyderabad. Recently, Bill Gates remembered how he was amused after meeting Chandrababu Naidu.
Chandrababu Naidu faced big setbacks in his political career too. From 2004 to 2014, he served as an opposition leader for two consecutive terms. In the 2009 polls, he came close to winning and Telugu Desam Party had lost many seats with a smaller margin.
He did not lose his hope. After Telangana was formed from the combined Andhra Pradesh, he became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Despite Hyderabad being the common capital for both states, Chandrababu Naidu had planned a massive capital in the Amaravati region. He tried his best by constructing Court and staff quarters. However, he could not convince the people that his idea would succeed.
TDP lost the 2019 polls cheaply. As another big shock, a few leaders left the party. TDP is now dealing with a big crisis and winning the upcoming polls is a do or die for the party. TDP fans and sympathizers are hoping that Chandrababu can make the magic.
Keeping the election results aside, Chandrababu has a strong image that his thoughts are big and he thinks a few steps ahead of other leaders. When other states have focused on agriculture and agri-based sectors, he kept his eyes on the IT sector. Coming to Amaravathi too, he made a massive plan of having a capital with all the facilities.
