YSRCP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy’s latest statement about the impending presidential elections has raised heat. His comment about supporting or not supporting the BJP’s presidential candidate is the talk of the town.
Recently, Vijay Sai Reddy said that the BJP falls short of the victory margin by 4 per cent. He said the party would take a decision on whether to support the BJP candidate or not only after the BJP consults it. The YSRCP would take a decision on who to vote for after deep consultations. He said that the party would take a decision keeping in view the interests of the state.
The question is if the YSRCP does not support the BJP candidate, who will it support? Will it support the UPA or Congress candidate? Or will stay neutral? By staying neutral or abstaining from voting, the YSRCP would not gain anything. So, the party may have to vote for either the Congress or the BJP. It remains to be seen who gets the YSRCP support.
Political watchers say that it would be difficult for YS Jagan to go against the BJP. So, there can never be a question of voting for any other candidate except the BJPs’. So, why did Vijaya Sai make this statement? Can Jagan ask for any concession from Narendra Modi in return for its support to the BJP candidate for the post of the president of india.
