Is Chief Minister KCR trying to extend an olive branch to Governor Tamilisai Saundararajan? It appears so. After months of tussle and wordy duels, KCR appears to be softening a bit and is trying to improve relations with Governor Tamilisai. If highly placed sources are to be believed, Telangana CM KCR is likely to meet Governor Tamilisai very soon.
The relations between the Pragathi Bhavan and the Raj Bhavan soured considerably over the last several months. The dispute became deeper when the Governor did not approve of KCR’s proposal to make Padi Kaushik Reddy an MLC under the Governor’s quota. Her refusal has irked KCR and since then, the TRS leaders began attacking the Governor.
On her part, the Governor lodged a formal complaint with the Union government. She even gave interviews to the media and spoke in detail about her differences with KCR. But, now KCR appears to be raising a white flag.
The thaw in the relations has become necessary as KCR wants to expand his cabinet. He wants to take up a rejig of his cabinet ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. He also needs the Governor’s nod for going for snap polls if needed. All these have forced KCR to soften his approach towards the Governor Sources say that a former union minister and another key leader from Karimnagar are sending feelers to the Governor for a compromise of sorts.
