Natural star Nani’s light-hearted romantic entertainer ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ was released on 10th June amidst good hype and expectations. The makers were successful in bringing a positive buzz towards the film right from the beginning and the trailer looked entertaining too. The movie which was almost three hours long managed to entertain the audience throughout.
Nani’s comedy timing and Vivek Athreya’s writing stood as the biggest strengths of this film. With a positive talk right from the morning shows and Pawan Kalyan arriving as the guest for the pre-release event, one would expect the film to register very good numbers at the box office on its first day.
But the movie managed to get a share of 3.8 crores as per reports. This is not a great number when compared to the openings of Nani’s previous films. As we know, Nani’s ‘MCA’ got 7.57 crores on the first day and stood as the highest in his career. ‘Krishna Arjuna Yuddham’ got 4.62 crores while ‘Jersey’ earned 4.47 crores. ‘Gang Leader’ got 4.57 crores while his last film ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ earned 4.17 crores.
‘Ante Sundaraniki’ collected less than all these films. Experts claim that the audience might have waited for the talk to come out before booking the tickets. Since the movie got a positive talk, the trade pundits are expecting the collections to improve drastically in the coming days. Let us wait and see how the film performs at the box office from now on.
Nani played the role of a Brahmin guy in the film while heroine Nazriya was seen as a Christian girl Leela Thomas. Naresh, Rohini, Nadiya, Harshavardhan, Prudhvi, Rahul Ramakrishna and many others played key roles in this movie. Niketh is the cinematographer while Vivek Sagar provided the music. Mythri Movie Makers bankrolled this project which was released in Tamil and Malayalam too.
