When Will Rana Get A Solo Hit?

Tollywood’s handsome hunk Rana Daggubati has a lot of admirers among the audience. Unlike the regular heroes, Rana never hesitates to try new scripts and even plays negative roles. He works on a movie if the storyline impresses him and doesn’t care about the commercial factor or other market-related issues. Despite having the looks of a star hero, he never minds playing the second fiddle if needed.

While all these qualities helped him in earning a good image, his market as a solo hero never grew. It has been a long time since he scored a solo hit. Barring ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ which came out immediately after ‘Baahubali’, all his other films where he acted as the solo hero turned out to be commercial failures. Movies like ‘Leader’, ‘Nenu Naa Rakshashi’, ‘Naa Istham’, ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’, ‘Aranya’ and others are examples of it.

His last film was ‘Bheemla Nayak’ where he was the antagonist to Pawan’s character. Now, he is coming with ‘Virataparvam’ which started off as Rana’s film but the makers are now promoting it as Sai Pallavi’s film. Sources reveal that the entire story revolves around her character. The entire buzz is around her and if the film turns successful, lion’s share of the credit will be taken by the talented actress.

We need to wait and see if Rana scores a solo hit in the coming days at least or not. Coming to ‘VIrataparvam’, Rana plays the role of Comrade Ravanna in this movie which is inspired by the true events of the 1990s. He writes poetry in this film and his pen name is Aranya. Sai Pallavi plays the role of Vennela who is a big admirer of Ravanna’s poetry. The film also has an amazing star cast comprising Priyamani, Nanditha Das, Naveen Chandra, Zareena Wahab, Eswari Rao, Sai Chand, Benarji, Nagineedu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Devi Prasad and others. Dani Sanchez Lopez is the cinematographer along with Divakar Mani. Suresh Bobbili scored the music and Raju Sundaram is the choreographer while Stephen Richard along with Peter Hein composed the fights. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Suresh Babu, Venu Udugula made this film with a Naxalite backdrop.
