There was a time when superstar Krishna released 16 films in a single year. Even Megastar Chiranjeevi came up with 14 films in one year back in the 80s. Legends like NTR and ANR used to live in a time when their day began and ended with movie shootings. Though it is not practical to compare the current generation with big heroes back in the 60s and 70s, the big star heroes nowadays have a market of over 100 crores but are still failing to bring two films in a single year. This is not just a problem for the fans but the entire film industry too.
Going into details, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was released back in December 2021. We are already in November 2022 but the regular shooting of the second part is yet to begin. They are trying to cool the fans with working stills and unwanted updates. It has been nearly eight months since Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ came out but NTR is yet to start his next project under Koratala Siva’s direction. There is a talk that the shooting may not start till 2023.

Prabhas was supposed to arrive on Jan 12th with ‘Adipurush’ but it got postponed to 16th June 2023. ‘Salaar’ will be coming out on 28th September and no one knows whether ‘Project K’ releases in 2023 or 2024. There are a lot of doubts about Shankar and Ram Charan’s film. This political thriller was rumored to get released during the summer of 2023. There is no clarity on his movie with Gautham Thinnauri and reports suggest that he is looking for other scripts too. This means that all the big stars are going to arrive late at the box office. There are a lot of big heroes in Tollywood and it is important for them to at least have two releases so that it benefits the film industry. Mid-level heroes like Nikhil, Adivi Sesh and Rakshith Shetty are slowly turning into pan-Indian heroes. It looks like the plans of our star heroes went haywire in recent times.
