The Vizag Steel Plant privatization row is likely to enter the national level. PCC chief Gidugu Rudra Raju said that Rahul Gandhi is going to come to Vizag to participate in the protest against privatization.
Rahul Gandhi is busy with his tour in Wayanad in Kerala. On his way back to Delhi, he might come to Vizag. If he cannot come this time, Rahul Gandhi is said to have told the leaders that he would come to Vizag at the earliest. So it appears that the Vizag Steel Plant privatisation row is going to enter national politics.
Steel Factory employees union leaders went to Delhi and met the BJP leaders and others. They are requesting for change of privatisation decision. The union leaders are alleging that a few opposition leaders gave a positive response though the BJP leaders did not respond. But none of them came to Vizag. The union leaders are feeling that Rahul Gandhi would come to Vizag.
There are no chances for the Narendra Modi government to stop privatization no matter how hard people are fighting against this. Telangana Minister KTR alleged that Modi already decided to allot the steel plant to the Adani group. KTR also said that the guidelines were made to benefit the Adani group.
It would not make any big difference if Rahul Gandhi comes here. But it will be a moral boost for 22,000 employees, workers, and their families. With Rahul’s visit, the Congress party is also planning to spread its wings.
As every party does this, we cannot blame the Congress party alone. But we can say that the Vizag Steel plant issue would get highlighted at the national level.
