The Indian airlines are not leaving any stone unturned in placing big orders to add new carriers to increase the infrastructure. It is known that a few months back Air India ordered aircraft with Boeing and Airbus. Now it’s the turn of another company to place an even bigger deal.
IndiGo, the largest airline in India by passengers carried entered a deal with Airbus for as many as 500 narrowbody jets. This is said to be the highest and single biggest in the history of commercial aviation. The new carrier will take the count of carriers the company has to 1,330, which is the highest in the world.
The deal is made at a time when the Aviation market is getting back to its normal position. The industry was hit hard for two and half years when the Covid fear was at its peak. As a safety measure, flights were reduced and flights coming to India are also reduced so that the Covid fear won’t increase in the nation.
Now the aviation industry is on the right path and things are going on a good path. Following this, the air carrier decided to add more vehicles to its fold. The new vehicles are expected to be delivered between 2030 and 2035. Indigo is said to have placed the biggest order in the aviation industry.
IndiGo and Airbus have a long-standing association and the largest Indian carrier has been making deals with Airbus for the vehicles. In its history of around two decades, IndiGo picks Airbus to have carriers. Barring a few instances, Airbus delivered carriers to the carrier.
The Indian air carrier picking Airbus for the new 500 narrowbody jets gives an example of the trust the airline has in the aerospace company. The carriers that were ordered are Family aircraft.
The fuel-efficient vehicles are used by many major carriers. Talking about IndiGo, the company already has hundreds of A320 Family aircraft and the new carriers took the count that will be under the airline to a massive 1330. This places the company as a bigger player among the global players.
