Is yester-year heroine and former MP Jayaprada planning to leave the BJP and join the BRS ahead of the 2024 elections? If the reliable sources are to be believed, the actress-politician is planning to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Maharashtra and the BRS is actively considering putting up her as its candidate.
As of now, Jayaprada is in the BJP. However, he has not been active in the party and has not attended any party meet of late. Also, there is no seat in Telangana from where she can contest. Hence, she is said to be on the lookout for a suitable party. Meanwhile, the BRS boss is said to have approached her with a proposal that she contest from Maharashtra.
Jayaprada, who began in Telugu films, went on to become a top-notch heroine in Bollywood and speaks flawless Hindi. She can easily relate to Maharashtra and win votes, the BRS thinking heads feel. They argue that by making her the candidate, the party too will get some traction in the state of Maharashtra.
Jayaprada was active in the TDP for quite some time. Later, she fell out with Chandrababu Naidu and forayed into national politics. She joined the Samajwadi Party and represented Rampur in Uttar Pradesh twice in the Lok Sabha. Later, she left the party and joined the BJP after the 2019 elections. If she joins the BRS, it would be another flip flop for her.
