‘Bedurulanka 2012’ is gracing the screens on August 25th. Directed by Clax, the film stars Kartikeya in the role of a principled man who can’t tolerate fraud around him.
In his latest interview, the ‘RX 100’ actor has spoken of the key highlights of the dramedy, whose story takes place in 2012 over a span of about three weeks. The hero suggests that organic comedy arising from strange situations, the central message, and Mani Sharma’s background score are going to stand out.
“Some of the scenes will surely inspire the audience to think. For the entire run time of 2.5 hours, the film is going to thoroughly engage you. When Clax narrated the story, I had no idea how the execution would be. For, a film like ‘Bedurulanka’ hasn’t been made before,” Kartikeya says.
He is particularly positive about the chemistry between him and Neha Shetty. “You won’t see the Radhika of ‘DJ Tillu’ anywhere. She has made sure to sell her character in her own way,” Kartikeya says, praising his co-star who has transitioned from a bold urbane role to a naive village woman’s role.
Producer Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni was always budget-friendly. “For a scene, a crowd had to be pressed into action to generate the desired effect. The producer asked us to mount the scene on the scale that was required,” Kartikeya reveals.
Ajay Ghosh will be seen as a handler of two fake Godmen belonging to two different faiths. Kartikeya says that the film is mindful of religious sentiments. “There is no intention to offend anybody. The audience will see the point,” he adds.
Sai Prakash Ummadisingu and Sunny Kurapati have cranked the camera. The film is edited by Viplav Nyshadam.
