National Award-winning actor Dhanush’s 50th film, “Raayan,” is shrouded in uncertainty as its scheduled June 13th release date approaches. While fans eagerly await the film, the lack of promotional activity has sparked concern.
Despite releasing two songs – a motivational festival track and a romantic number featuring Sundeep Kishan and Aparna Balamurali – crucial promotional elements like the teaser, trailer, and audio launch date remain under wraps. This low-key approach by the makers has heightened anxiety with only two weeks left before the targeted release.
Reports suggest a strong possibility of the film’s postponement to July or August. An official confirmation from Dhanush regarding the release strategy is awaited to quell fan speculation.
“Raayan” marks a milestone for Dhanush, who takes on the triple threat of lead actor, writer, and director. The film boasts a multilingual cast and is planned for release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and other languages. The Telugu version is being distributed by Asian Suresh Entertainment LLP.
Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram play key roles alongside Dhanush. Sun Pictures handles production, with Jacki as the production designer and Peter Hein choreographing the action sequences. A.R. Rahman composes the music, while Om Prakash and Prasanna GK take charge of cinematography and editing, respectively.
The supporting cast includes prominent names like SJ Surya, Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, and Dhushara Vijayan. With a talented team both in front of and behind the camera, “Raayan” possesses immense potential. However, the lack of promotion and the looming possibility of a delay are casting a shadow over the film’s much-anticipated release.
