The recently released sci-fi epic “Kalki 2898 AD” has sparked conversation not only for its grand visuals and captivating story, but also for a unique twist in its title cards. While pan-Indian star Prabhas is usually referred to as “Young Rebel Star,” the film credits him as “Sri Prabhas,” a decision that quickly gained viral attention. Interestingly, this was not an isolated change, as every male actor in the film received the prefix “Sri” before their names.
The reasoning behind this creative choice by the filmmakers remains undisclosed.
The film itself boasts an impressive cast, with Deepika Padukone taking the lead female role. Amitabh Bachchan portrays her protector Ashwatthama, while Kamal Haasan delivers a powerful performance as the villainous Supreme Yashkin. Disha Patani makes a noteworthy appearance as Roxie. Adding further star power are guest appearances by S.S. Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, and several other prominent actors.
“Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin, has garnered positive reviews and is projected to achieve record-breaking box office numbers. Trade pundits are particularly curious to see if the film can surpass the phenomenal day-one collections achieved worldwide by “RRR.”
