In the wake of the devastating floods that ravaged Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Telugu film industry united to provide relief and support to the affected communities. A press conference was convened by industry leaders to announce their plans and appeal for contributions from the public.
Senior producer Daggubati Suresh Babu emphasized the industry’s commitment to helping those in need, stating, “Our industry always takes the lead in times of crisis. We will provide not only financial assistance but also essential supplies. Our family is contributing one crore rupees, and we encourage others to do the same.”
Damodar Prasad, Honorary Secretary of the Film Chamber, announced the Chamber’s donation of Rs.25 lakhs each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Additionally, Telugu film producers pledged Rs.10 lakhs each to the states, while the Film Industry Employees Federation announced a one-day salary contribution.
Legendary director Raghavendra Rao highlighted the industry’s responsibility to give back to the people who have supported their success. Producer Dil Raju called upon industry members to donate to the federation account, which would then be forwarded to the state governments.
Thammareddy Bharadwaj revealed the formation of a committee to assess the needs of the flood-affected areas and provide targeted assistance. The committee will identify specific problems and work towards solutions.
The press conference was attended by prominent figures from the Telugu film industry, including Raghavendra Rao, Dil Raju, Suresh Babu, Bharat Bhushan, Damodar Prasad, Prasanna Kumar, Gemini Kiran, Ashok Kumar, Anil, Ammiraju, Thammareddy Bharadwaj, and Bharat Chaudhary.
