Acclaimed director S.P. Jananathan admitted in ICU


Renowned director SP Jananathan has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai after he was found in an unconscious state on Thursday (March 11) in his room.

As per hospital sources, the health of the director is in critical condition and he is also said to be brain dead. His family members are waiting for a neurosurgeon to confirm further treatment.

SP Jananathan was involved with the editing work of his upcoming film Laabam when he was found unconscious in the room. Laabam stars Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. Meanwhile, fans and followers of Jananathan now wish him a speedy recovery on social media.

SP Jananthan made his debut with Iyyarkai in 2003 and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil in 2004. He also directed Jiiva’s E (2006), Jayam Ravi’s Peranmai (2009) and Arya-Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai (2015).
