Pakistan will finally have a chance to witness the iconic cult Indian classic Sholay in theatres, 40 years after it hit the Indian theatres.
Nadeem Mandviwalla, the owner of Karachi-based Mandiwalla Entertainment and one of Pakistan’s leading film distributors, said Pakistanis watched only the pirated version and never had the privilege to watch the movie on big screen.
He added that it had always been a personal dream of his to put the iconic 1975 film on the big screen in Pakistan. The movie will be released tentatively on March 20 in 2D and 3D.
Directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by his father G P Sippy, the 1975 film starred Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra in lead roles. The mega hit also starred Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan among others in key roles.
