The highly anticipated movie ‘Agent’ starring Akhil is all set to release this Friday, with US premieres scheduled for Thursday, 27th April. Despite facing some delays, the film received a UA certificate with a run time of 156 minutes from the censor board.
The first copy of the film was only readied ten days before the release, with the producer’s date lock forcing the director to wrap up post-production work.
The film’s violent trailer had led many to believe that it would receive an A certificate, but the board granted an Unrestricted public exhibition with Parental guidance, along with eight cuts and three mutes.
The censor board requested several changes, including removing visuals of a beheading, a reference to ‘PM’ with subtitles, and blood on the hero’s face and body. They also suggested muting words like ‘Chotiya’, ‘Maarhod’, and ‘F*cking’ with subtitles.
Despite the censor cuts, Akhil remains optimistic about the film’s prospects, especially given the lackluster buzz surrounding its competition, PS 2, in Telugu. Fans will have to wait and see how the movie performs in theaters.
