The rise of OTT platforms is indeed turning out to be a big boon to small and medium budget films. The competition between the OTT platforms in acquiring content is helping the small producers to gain more as their films are getting due price for the digital rights.
The latest is that producer Raj Kandukuri’s son Shiva Kandukuri’s launch film Choosi Chodangaane’s digital rights have been sold. It’s acquired by none other than Aha, the new OTT platform launched by Allu Aravind, My Home’s Jupally Rameshwara Rao, Megha Krishna Reddy, Nimmagadda Prasad and others.
It is learnt that the digital rights have fetched decent amount to producer Raj Kandukuri for Choosi Choodangaane. He is now said to be contented with the film recovering its costs through its non theatrical and theatrical rights. On the whole, the film turned out to be a safe project for Raj Kandukuri besides his son getting good applause.
Meanwhile, Shiva has got a couple of good projects where talks are in nascent phase. Some outside production houses are said to be keen on zeroing in on Shiva. Let’s wait and see, what is in store for this talented young hero. Overall, it is a win-win for Raj Kandukuri.
