Mumbai: Ever since Chennai was hit by the disaster caused by rains, many celebrities tried to do their bit by extending help to those in need. Bollywood’s King Khan, SRK recently donated Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund and now Akshay Kumar has pitched in as well.
The actor made his contribution by extending a helping hand to the rain ravaged people of Chennai city by donating Rs. 1 crore for relief work. Akshay Kumar saw the shocking visuals of rain affected Chennai and wanted to help the people in need.
Reportedly, the actor called filmmaker Priyadarshan asking how he can make his contribution and donate the money. Director Priyadarshan asked the actor to contact Suhasini Mani Ratnam. Suhasini suggested the actor to donate the money to Bhoomika Trust. Filmmaker Jayendra, who is the managing trustee of Bhoomika Trust, received Rs. 1 crore cheque from Akshay Kumar.
