Amazon Prime has been lining up a handful of exclusive Telugu releases. Earlier this year, the OTT giant orchestrated a direct to digital release for Nani’s Tuck Jagadish. Now, it has lined up another biggie.
Apparently, Amazon Prime Video has locked a direct to digital release for Venkatesh’s Drushyam 2, which is the Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam 2.
Suresh Babu was even contemplating theatrical release, but Amazon Prime offered much lesser financial prospects for the post theatrical digital rights of Drushyam 2. So, Suresh Babu opted to skip theatrical release and went ahead with the direct to digital release proposal.
In all likelihood, Drushyam 2 will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video this Christmas season. The exact premieres date will be unveiled by the makers very soon.
Drushyam 2 has Venkatesh and Meena in the lead roles. The film is directed by Jeethu Joseph who had previously directed the original Malayalam version, Drishyam 2.
