ANR National Award To Superstar

Yesteryear Superstar and veteran actor Krishna Ghattamaneni has been conferred with ANR National Award. Krishna will be conferred with the award at a glittering ceremony in Hyderabad on Dec 20th. Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and present Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah will be attending the event as its chief guest. Krishna has been adjudged with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the ANR foundation.

‘Yuva Ratna’ for Kumari Purna Malavath

‘Chenetha Ratna’ for Nalla Vijay

Along with Lifetime Achievement Award for Krishna Ghattamaneni, the awardees are called as ‘Nava Ratnas’ by ANR International Foundation which instituted ANR National Award in 2005. The Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) award recognizes film artistes whose body of work has made a lasting impact of outstanding artistic, cultural and commercial significance to the field of cinema.

The award was given annually to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Indian film industry. ANR National Award was first awarded to veteran Bollywood actor Dev Anand in 2006. The previous awardees include Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanatimala Bali, Lata Mangeshkar, K. Balachander, Hema Malini, Shyam Benegal, and Amitabh Bachchan.
