Since the demise of former President and Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam, several celebrities expressed their sadness and condolences on social media sites. One such Star is the Bollywood hottie, Anushka Sharma. The actress, like many others, tweeted her sorrow about Kalam’s death but got his name terribly wrong and paid a huge price for her blunder, not just once but twice.
Anushka tweeted, “Very sad to hear about the passing of ABJ Kalam Azad. Loss of an inspiring visionary and a wonderful soul. May his soul RIP.” While Anushka’s intentions were genuine, her ignorance about the name of the legend didn’t go down well with her followers who attacked her with harsh words and even targeted her beau Virat Kohli.
Witnessing the heavy backlash Anushka quickly made the amends but only to further horror. The actress sent another tweet out. “Very sad to hear about the passing of APJ Kalam Azad. Loss of an inspiring visionary and a wonderful soul. May his soul RIP.” While ABJ was replaced with APJ, Anushka still forgot to correct Kalam Azad, yet another Bharat Ratna from the freedom struggle period, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Twitteratis continued their brutal tweet attack and Anushka, in her third attempt, got the name right. But by then, all the damage was done and she faced the heat of her followers.
