Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will leave for Delhi on Tuesday. He is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Sources said Jagan has sought time with Narendra Modi to brief him on the current developments in the AP.
In the last few days in Andhra Pradesh, politics has revolved around the destruction of idols in Temples. Opposition parties alleged that the government is behind the demolition of the Ram statue in Ramatheertham. However, the AP government has ordered an inquiry into the destruction of the statues.
If Union Home Minister Amit Shah gives an appointment, it is likely that Jagan will hand over the CID report on the temple attacks and destruction of idols in AP. The AP government has already sought a CBI probe into the burning of the Antarvedi chariot. It seems that CM Jagan wants to appoint this immediately.
CM Jagan may also discuss the jamili elections in his meeting with the Modi and Amit Shah. Apart from this, Jagan is also likely to meet Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of Centre’s budget presentation on February 1. He will ask the Minister to AP to release the pending funds, while at the same time releasing funds to expedite the completion of central projects. However, it was a long time since CM Jagan left for Delhi and gained political prominence.
