AP government appointed Gautam Reddy as chairman of AP FiberNet

The government has appointed Poonur Gautam Reddy, a senior leader of the ruling YSR Congress party, as chairman of Andhra Pradesh FiberNet Limited.

The orders to this effect were issued by the Special Principal Secretary, Ministry of Infrastructure and Investment, Karikala Valaven. AP Fibernet MD has already been instructed to make appropriate arrangements.

Gautam Reddy from Vijayawada is the president of the YCP trade union. He contested from Vijayawada Central Assembly constituency in the 2014 Assembly elections and was defeated.

He was not allotted a superiority ticket in the 2019 elections. However, Gautam Reddy’s comments on Vangaveeti Radha in the past have been highly controversial.

The party also issued him a ‘Show cause’ notice at that time. Gautam Reddy then gave an explanation for his remarks.
