The Andhra Pradesh government has become quite infamous for arresting or filing cases against every single person that has gone against its interests.
To make sure that the courts do not interfere with its actions, the government has even come up with an interesting concept where it arrests people during the weekend.
Now, senior IAS officer AB Venkateswara Rao is scared that he would be given this weekend treatment, resulting in a suspension.
If a person is arrested during the weekend, the person would have to spend 48hours in the Police station as there would be no courts, and spending 48 hours in a police station would result in the suspension of the person from their job.
As a result, AB has requested for an anticipatory bail from the High Court, and has also asked the High Court to give orders so that he would not be arrested in the first place.
AB’s problems started after the AP government changed last year. False allegations were made against him, and cases were filed against him, resulting in his suspension.
Finally, he had to pay a compensation of Rs. 10 Lakhs, and even the Supreme Court could not lift his suspension due to technical problems.
Several sources are saying that AB is being extra careful right now, mostly because he has gotten information about a possible arrest panned by the government. And if he isn’t careful now, he might once again be suspended from his job.
It is now to be seen if the High Court would grant him an anticipatory bail, or not. However, what remains to be highly interesting is that the government has found the perfect solution to the interference of the courts, in arresting people during the weekend.
