The cinema ticket prices related issue in Andhra Pradesh has hit the penultimate phase. The government of Andhra Pradesh is not tracking back on the ticketing system and is imposing unforeseen restrictions on the same. On the other hand, the government has also asked local authorities to seize the cinema halls if they don’t have therrequired permits and amenities. Several cinema halls in Andhra Pradesh were seized already and the government is saying that there is more to come.
Amidst such a tense situation, the pressure is mounting on MAA president Manchu Vishnu to react about the whole fiasco. A common audience who watched Shyam Singha Roy in theatres today went on to comment that it is better if Manchu Vishnu resigns immediately. “What is the use with Manchu Vishnu as the MAA president? He isn’t fighting for the Telugu film industry as it wages a battle on the restrictions imposed by the government of Andhra Pradesh. It is better if Manchu Vishnu steps down by himself,” the commoner commented.
Well, Vishnu vowed to stand by Tollywood if needed regardles of the consequences as he recently took charge as MAA president. Now, the pressure is mounting on him to walk the talk. Given the fact that Vishnu is a close relative of Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the onus is on him to do the needful, opined a netizen.
Earlier, Nani spoke about the ticket prices issue as he commented “What is happening in Andhra Pradesh is not right. It is unfair to suppress the industry which provides livelihood to so many people in such a way. It doesn’t make any sense in the first place. A theatre management which provides livelihood to many people is making less money than a grocery store or a pan shop beside their premises. This is a dire situation and it doesn’t make any sense. How can this be an economically feasible modus operandi?”
Now, it would be really interesting to see if Vishnu will actually react to all the pressure that is being asserted on him. Also, it remains to be seen how Tollywood, as an industry will tackle the whoe scenario.
