AP NGOs’ president Paruchuri Ashok Babu is mostly likely to join active politics and if possible, contest the next elections, according to the talk doing rounds in social media circles.Ashok, who is still a senior employee in Andhra Pradesh government, came in for sharp criticism for campaigning against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Telugu speaking areas of Karnataka in the ongoing electioneering in that state.
He openly called upon the people to vote for the Congress party.Though he denied of having been sent to Karnataka on behalf of the ruling Telugu Desam Party, there are enough evidences to show that he has the support of the TDP.Even the funding for his trip was said to be done by the TDP, which he has obviously denied. He told the media on his return that he was ready to resign from his job, if the BJP and its supporters had any objection to his campaign in Karnataka.
This led to the talk that Ashok Babu is indeed contemplating taking voluntary retirement from his job and planning to enter active politics.Needless to say, Ashok will prefer the TDP to test his political fortunes because of his affinity towards chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and also because of the caste factor.
Apparently, Naidu is trying to make use of his services to appease the employees to vote in favour of the TDP!
