Ayyanna’s brother all set to join YSRC

At last, Chintakayala Sanyasi Patrudu, the younger brother of former minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, who resigned from the Telugu Desam Party along with scores of his followers last month, is all set to join the YSR Congress party.

Party sources said YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy gave the green signal for joining of Sanyasi Patrudu, the vice-chairman of Narsipatnam municipality, into the party.

Though Sanyasi Patrudu had been trying to join the YSRC since he resigned from the TDP, he could not get any clearance from Jagan president because of the strong resistance from the local YSRC cadre.

They complained to the party leadership that Sanyasi Patrudu had subjected them to several troubles along with his brother Ayyanna Patrudu. Local YSRC MLA Petla Uma Shankara Ganesh has been opposing Sanyasi Patrudu’s entry into the party.

Jagan, however, was convinced that if Sanyasi Patrudu joins the YSRC, it will weaken the TDP further, as the cadre would be split between him and Ayynna Patrudu.

Moreover, it will also give further push to Ayyanna’s rivals within the TDP including former minister and now Visakhapatnam MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, to quit the party and join the YSRC.

Former MLA Panchakarla Ramesh, who is TDP Vizag rural district president is also likely to join the YSRCP.

After convincing the local leaders, Jagan gave the nod for Sanyasi’s entry into the party, sources said.
