The Telangana BJP chief, it appears, is distinctly unhappy with the various frontal organisations and morchas of the party. If sources are to be believed, he is planning to reconstitute most of these morchas to make them effective and functional. Sources say he wants to complete this task well before the national executive committee meeting to be held in Hyderabad next month.
The BJP national leadership too has expressed deep dissatisfaction over the functioning of various morchas. Some of the morchas have not held even a single meeting in the last several months. Some morchas exist only in name with just conveners appointed. Some other morchas meet regularly, but did not take up any agitational programme.
For instance, the farmers’ morcha and the industrial workers’ morcha have not taken up key agitations during this period. The Kisan Morcha did not even bother to talk about the Podu lands issue. Finally, T BJP president Bandi Sanjay himself has to take up the issue and launch an agitation. Even after this, the Kisan Morcha did not get its act together.
Ditto with the Tribal morcha. The BJP girijana morcha too has not taken up any major issue. The only saving grace is the BJP Yuva Morcha, which has successfully organised several programmes on issues such as joblessness, drug abuse and the recent gangrape of a Romanian girl. Hence, Bandi Sanjay is now said to be planning to dissolve all these morchas and reconstitute them with young faces that are willing to work and deliver results. He feels that this is important in the election year.
