The most popular brand in the smartphone industry, Apple iPhone, turned 10 on January 9, 2017. And, the tech company’s CEO Tim Cook confidently said that the “best is yet to come”.
It all started 10 years ago when then Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduce the first ever iPhone at Mac World 2007 in San Francisco on 9th Jan 2007. It went on sale on June 29 that year and spearheaded a revolution in the smartphone arena.
In commemoration of completing 10 glorious years, Apple has issued a press release highlighting the achievements of iPhone since its inception in 2007. Cook claimed that the company has sold over 1 billion phones in these 10 years.
“iPhone is an essential part of our customers’ lives, and today more than ever it is redefining the way we communicate, entertain, work, and live. iPhone set the standard for mobile computing in its first decade and we are just getting started. The best is yet to come,” Cook added.
Apple is poised to introduce iPhone 8 this year.
