With rapidly rising Covid-19 cases, many states in India are now prepping to impose strict social distancing measures in order to contain the spread of the virus. As a part of it, many states have already imposed 50% seating capacity in theatres and multiplexes.
As per the latest update, the restrictions on the seating capacity will also be imposed in Telugu states. The state of governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are planning to implement them from April 15 to April 30.
In view of this, major releases from Tollywood are now postponing their release dates.
Tuck Jagadish:
Nani starrer Tuck Jagadish, which was scheduled to release on 23 April 2021, is now postponed to May 1. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film is produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under the banner Shine Screens.
Love Story:
Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s much-awaited Love Story has already announced the postponement. The new release date is on May 13, on the occasion of Ramzan. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the project is bankrolled by Amigos Creations and Sree Venkateswara Cinemas.
Acharya:
Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya is definitely a big film that the audience is desperately waiting for. The film was scheduled for May 13, but now it has been postponed to August 13. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film has Ram Charan in a key role. It is jointly backed by Konidela Productions and Matinee Entertainment.
Pushpa:
Allu Arjun’s pan-India project Pushpa, directed by Sukumar, was supposed to hit the screens on August 13, 2021. With the delay in shooting and other reasons, the action drama is aiming to release the film on December 17th.
RRR:
Rajamouli’s much anticipated RRR announced its release date for 13 October 2021. But considering the latest developments, the film is skipping its release date. The new date will be announced shortly.
